About Collective Acting
We strive to make our society a fairer place by providing access to the highest-quality training for actors from underrepresented groups, particularly in terms of ethnicity, disability and class.
We aim to show leadership in making the performing arts a more representative industry that better reflects the rich diversity of our society. To achieve this, we aim to become the leading provider of training in the U.K. for actors from underrepresented groups.
Fundamentally, we believe that our society is unfair – and that many of its key institutions are structured in ways that advantage certain groups over others. We think that is wrong and needs to change. So, our mission is to increase access for students from groups who have traditionally been underrepresented within the performing arts industry. We aspire to play a key role in rebalancing society, by training the actors, story-tellers and artistic leaders of the future who through the stories they will go on to tell – can help reshape our cultural and social consciousness.
As actors have the power to change the world!
Our values are founded on the principles of diversity, accessibility, inclusion, community and autonomy.
