Departmental Lecturer in Anglophone World Literature

Location: Faculty of English, Stephen A Schwarzman Centre for the Humanities, Woodstock Road, Oxford

Salary: Grade 7: £38,674-£40,855 per annum

Contract type: Fixed term (1 year) from 1 September 2025 to 31 August 2026

Hours: Full time 

About the role

A 1-year fixed-term teaching and research appointment in Anglophone World Literature is available for an outstanding academic at an early stage of their career. The appointee will be expected to play a key role in the delivery of the Faculty’s MSt in World Literature and of undergraduate teaching in World literature. 

About you

You will hold a doctorate in World literature or a closely related subject, with a strong research and publication record appropriate to your career stage. You will have experience of undergraduate lecturing in World literature, and will possess excellent interpersonal skills.
