About the role

This is a Lead role in Cutting-Edge Diabetes and Obesity Research Project.  We are seeking an individual with expertise in pharmacology and clinical research to spearhead groundbreaking our studies focused on exploring innovative treatments for diabetes and obesity. As a key member of our team, you will be instrumental in managing all aspects of these vital investigations.

What you would be doing

The post holder will have a leading role in the design, execution, and reporting of pharmacological assessments for novel treatments targeting diabetes and obesity. Collaborate with the academics and other researchers to oversee pre-clinical studies and manage study staff, ensuring adherence to rigorous scientific and regulatory standards. Implement and adapt established systems to optimize study development and execution, guaranteeing the highest standards of quality and compliance. Monitor data quality from external peptide manufacturers and Contract Research Organizations (CROs), ensuring accuracy and reliability. Stay abreast of current research fields, including receptor bias, prolonging the action of anorexigenic gut hormones, and identifying sites of action for gut hormone peptides.

Additionally, you will assume responsibility for the project's management and administration, ensuring seamless operations and timely progress. Your expertise will be invaluable as you provide support to related projects throughout the duration of the study.

What we are looking for

  • Applicants must have in-depth working knowledge and/or professional experience in the field of Diabetes & Obesity.
  • Extensive experience in biological services units with Home Office License in a relevant role medical/academic/research environment and have experience working with CROs and Molecular biology and receptor analysis with a detailed knowledge of the drug discovery pathway.
  • Experience working to GPC standards with an understanding of regulations and codes of practice are also essential.
