About the Role
Following a successful NIHR grant awarded to investigate optimisation of pubertal induction with gonadotropins (the “PinG” study), applications are invited for a clinical research fellow position within the William Harvey Research Institute at Bart’s and The London Medical School, Queen Mary University of London (QMUL). The post-holder will work on projects including the PinG study, involved in study set up, trial management, and data analysis. The data analysis component will be primarily of genomic data. The purpose of this post is to identify and investigate genotype-phenotype correlations in this study and in the PI team’s unique cohorts of mini-puberty and puberty patients. Data arising from this project will be analysed under the supervision of the PI to realise the objectives of the research project and develop new areas of research. The post-holder will be expected to undertake a higher degree such as a PhD during the fellowship.
About You
The applicant must be a medically qualified clinician with a current appointment in the NHS or equivalent healthcare system. The applicant must be qualified or actively training within the field of endocrinology or paediatrics/ paediatric endocrinology. The applicant will be required to have evidence of previous experience or involvement in research, with publications and presentations of abstracts at clinical or academic meetings. The applicant will be expected to achieve a higher degree during the fellowship (e.g. PhD) and will need to have excellent academic and organizational skills, ideally with previous experience of data analysis and/or genetics.

The position is within the Centre for Endocrinology, based at the Charterhouse Square Campus of QMUL in the heart of City of London. The Centre for Endocrinology brings together a group of leading clinical and non-clinical scientists researching the clinical, genetic, cellular and molecular basis of endocrine diseases. Key strengths include close collaboration between clinical endocrinology both paediatric and adult, genetic aspects and gene discovery in endocrine diseases, animal models, stem cells, signalling and cell biology.
