About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Blizard Institute, one of the largest and most dynamic research Institutes within the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry. The role focuses on supporting cutting-edge research into Paediatric Inflammatory Bowel Disease and Hepatitis C Virus, contributing to high-impact projects aimed at understanding rare complications in children with PIBD and improving treatment strategies for HCV in Pakistan. You will play a key role in the analysis of large-scale clinical datasets, collaborating with UK and international partners to deliver clinically meaningful insights. The position involves data cleaning, analysis, and development of reports, with the chance to build skills in data science tools like Excel, R, Python, and AI-driven epidemiology methods. With direct exposure to both national and global health initiatives, this role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to research with real-world impact and opportunity to support clinically relevant, translational research.
About You
You will hold a degree in a relevant scientific, medical, or data-focused discipline (e.g. public health, biomedical sciences, epidemiology, or statistics), with demonstrable experience in managing and analysing clinical or research data. You will have strong technical skills in Excel, R and Python. Experience with electronic data capture systems and working in collaborative, multi-disciplinary environments is highly desirable. You should possess excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work with stakeholders across academic, clinical, and international settings. A keen interest in paediatric health, global health, or infectious disease epidemiology will be advantageous. The successful candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and motivated to contribute to impactful research that informs real-world clinical decisions and public health strategies.
About the School/Department/Institute/Project
The Blizard Institute was established in 2003 and is one of six Institutes within the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, QMUL. The Institute comprises approximately 360 staff based in four academic Centres and one Public Engagement Centre and supports a combined total of c700 postgraduate research and taught students. The Institute aims to deliver excellence in all aspects of research, teaching, and clinical service.
