The School of Policy & Global Affairs is a centre of world-class scholarship, education and public service, making a transformative impact on society.
The Headquarters of the European Social Survey (ESS) is an independent research centre in the School of Policy & Global Affairs at City, University of London. It oversees the development and implementation of the ESS and its research programme.
We are looking to appoint a part time Administrative Assistant (0.5 FTE) to join the international team coordinating the European Social Survey (ESS), working with the Centre Coordinator to provide excellent administrative support to the team while also acting as PA to the ESS Director.
Responsibilities
The post offers an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys prioritising a varied workload and pro-actively supporting a friendly and professional team in achieving its day-to-day and longer-term goals.
A key aspect of the role would be to support the Centre Coordinator in the administration required to run the ESS HQ. They would be expected to take the lead on delegated tasks such as managing diaries, organising meetings, booking travel and maintaining financial records.
Person Specification
The appointed candidate will be educated to A-level or have an equivalent level of work experience. They will be able to work independently as well as in a flexible team and have excellent organisational skills, high quality written communication skills, a high level of accuracy and meticulous attention to detail. The post involves working with colleagues internationally and across all levels of seniority requiring tact and professionalism at all times.
