Summary of the role
We have an exciting opportunity available within our award-winning Access, Participation & Outreach Team to work with schools and colleges to support student recruitment and widening participation. The successful candidate, based in the Midlands, will work with regional schools and colleges to support the recruitment of students from diverse backgrounds. A skilful communicator, you will be confident in dealing with people of all ages and backgrounds. Your primary focus will be building strong relationships with teachers and HE advisors in target schools to develop programmes of activity to help learners make informed choices about their future. Able to take an analytical and evidence informed approach to prioritisation and evaluation, you will be comfortable writing plans and reports. This remote role requires the ability to work autonomously while building strong collaborative working relationships with colleagues to deliver joint programmes and events. You will work with a range of stakeholders including teachers and HE, prospective students, parents and carers, and academics, so an ability to build partnerships and manage relationships is essential. This role will involve management of student groups, including under 18s and so knowledge of safeguarding, confidence in dealing with challenging or disruptive behaviour, and resilience under pressure will be essential.
