The Department of Paediatrics is seeking a Clinical Research Associate with interests in cancer genomics. The Clinical Research Associate will be part of the Department of Paediatrics with close links to paediatric haematology and oncology and the Genomics Laboratory Hub.
They will join an enthusiastic and collaborative group studying the clinical utility of whole genome sequencing of childhood neoplasms. They will have an honorary contract with Cambridge University hospitals and will contribute clinically as well as conducting research. The post is funded for 1 year in the first instance.
The post-holder will get exposure and training in clinical cancer genomics, including discussion of data, contribution to MDTs, feedback to patients, whilst contributing to the delivery of the service. There will be a variety of opportunities for research with the main deliverable being a study of clinical utility.
Applicants must be medically qualified, have (or be eligible for) full GMC registration. Prior experience in paediatrics, paediatric oncology, paediatric haematology, pathology or clinical genetics is essential.
The postholder will report to Professor Sam Behjati and will work closely with Dr Tarpey (Genomics Laboratory hub) with whom the postholder will have regular interactions and they will join a team of inter-disciplinary scientists, technicians and clinicians in the academic department.
