About the Role
The Department of Economics invites applications for the post of Lecturer in Economics. The Department is looking to recruit a talented economist with an excellent record in teaching who will contribute to the mission of the Department, as one of the leading heterodox economics and political economy departments in the UK, with particular regional expertise in Asia, Africa and the Middle East as well as Europe and Latin America. You will have the ability to provide high quality teaching and pedagogical leadership in economic theories (macroeconomics and microeconomics) and methods (statistics, econometrics, machine learning and other data analysis approaches ) as well as with ability to teach with R, Python and other open-source statistical computer software at UG and PG levels. This includes the convening and teaching of modules, and supervision of dissertations. You will also have the ability to develop teaching material for modules that focus on the applications of data analytics to social sciences. You will have, or be close to completing, a PhD in Economics. You will be expected to have teaching experience and potential for leadership in teaching as well as academic citizenship in the Economics Department.
