We are looking for a Research Community Coordinator to join the Cancer Data-Driven Detection (https://www.ccge.medschl.cam.ac.uk/research-studies/active-programmes-studies/cancer-data-driven-detection-cd3-programme) (CD3) programme. CD3 is a new, multidisciplinary and multi-institutional strategic national research initiative dedicated to using data to revolutionise our understanding of cancer risk and enable early interception of cancers.
This role is central to building and sustaining a vibrant research community across CD3 and the broader CRUK research data community. The post-holder will lead on communications and engagement activities, including managing the CD3 community website, curating newsletters, organising and promoting events, creating content for social media, and amplifying the impact of research through compelling storytelling. A key part of the role is to connect researchers, early career professionals, policymakers and collaborators through regular updates, engaging events, and accessible digital platforms.
The Coordinator will also support the CD3 leadership team and Senior Research Programme Manager in aligning engagement strategies with programme goals and ensuring stakeholder needs are met.
The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level or have equivalent practical experience. They will have a strong background in communications, digital content creation, and community engagement, ideally within a research, data or health context. They should be confident communicators with excellent organisation skills, and experience managing communication tools such as Slack, GitHub, social media or similar platforms. Experience running engagement-focused events or campaigns will be an advantage.
The funds for these posts are available until 31 March 2030.
This is a full-time position. Part-time to 80% FTE will be considered.
Location: Department of Public Health and Primary Care, Strangeways Research Laboratory, Worts Causeway, Cambridge CB1 8RN (approx 2 miles south of city centre)
