Are you passionate about grant and financial research management? Join our team at the Department of Haematology and CSCI. We manage an extensive research grant portfolio funded by renowned sponsors including the UKRI, the Wellcome Trust, the British Heart Foundation (BHF), Cancer Research UK (CRUK), the European Commission, and various industrial partners.
The Institute is a world-leading centre for stem cell research with a mission to transform human health through a deep understanding of stem and progenitor cell biology (http://www.stemcells.cam.ac.uk). The Department of Haematology http://www.haem.cam.ac.uk/ has an international reputation in biomedical research, with a particular focus on blood cell formation, blood cancers and thrombosis. Approximately 60% of haematology research groups are part of CSCI.
This role is based in the Jeffrey Cheah Biomedical Centre located on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus.
As a member of the departments Professional Service team, you will be responsible for supporting research grants and finance for the CSCI and Haematology. CSCI and Haematology jointly has a total grant income of more than £150M and has approximately 450 staff and students. This role will support researchers in the grant application process, providing advice on funding schemes and procedures. This includes costing and submitting applications using worktribe, in collaboration with the Principal Investigator. The post holder will also support the management of research grants during the entire project lifecycle, including project accounting reporting and audits.
Candidates must be educated to at least A-level standard or equivalent, including English and Mathematics at GCSE level, or hold an NVQ Level 3. Previous experience of working in Higher Education would be beneficial but is not essential.
The successful candidate will possess exceptional organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise a diverse and changing workload. The ability to pay attention to detail and work to a high level of accuracy is essential in this role. We are looking for someone who has excellent communication skills and can communicate with a wide range of individuals including internal and external parties.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 2 years in the first instance.
Depending on the working days and hours, you will be required to work in the office up to 2 days per week and the rest of the time, you will be working from home.
