FTE: 1.0
Term: Fixed Term Secondment (Initially for 12 months)

The Digital Health and Care Innovation Centre (DHI) is a national organisation which brings together Scotland's public sector, academia, third sector and industry to create new ways of working, and to co-design with citizens digital solutions to some of the country's biggest health and care challenges. DHI is a world-leading collaboration hosted by the University of Strathclyde in partnership with the Glasgow School of Art. It is publicly funded by the Scottish Funding Council (SFC) and the Scottish Government.

DHI’s unique needs-led approach facilitates and develops knowledge exchange and collaborations for innovators, entrepreneurs and enterprises to develop proven, scalable, and commercially viable digital solutions for use in health and care across Scotland and for export to international markets. We help position Scotland at the forefront of the growing global digital health and care economy through policy influencing, applied research, knowledge exchange, skills development, infrastructure, products and services to attract investment and create high value jobs.

DHI is seeking to recruit a Portfolio Lead to lead, manage and co-ordinate an exciting and innovative portfolio of national and international addiction support programmes and projects enabled by digital inclusion and digital products. This is a high-profile and complex role, which contributes to the delivery of significant Scottish Government, UK Government and European Union priorities, including the Scottish National Mission to address drug related deaths. The portfolio includes the award-winning Digital Lifelines Scotland programme and the European Union funded Peace Plus funded SUMIT programme (Substance Use and Mental Health Interventions using Digital Technology).

DHI is looking for an enthusiastic and creative individual with significant experience of delivering cross sector, complex national programmes and supporting knowledge exchange, with experience of European funded project delivery. This position will suit someone who ideally possesses a blend of digital, health and/or social care, relevant industry or academic experience. Due to the nature of the role applications on a Secondment basis will be accepted.

The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing, developing and managing key senior stakeholder relationships, having the skills to build and lead a robust knowledge exchange network with professional bodies, industry, academia and key external bodies, developing a portfolio of ground-breaking digital research & innovation opportunities within the addictions sector.

The portfolio lead role is a fixed-term post which is initially funded for 1 year.

The post will directly report to DHI’s Head of Innovation for Care and Well Being.

DHI operate a blended working environment where working from home, traveling to other parts of Scotland, UK and internationally are part of our operating model.   The formal base for the post will be the DHI HQ in Glasgow.

Initial interviews have been scheduled July 2025.

For informal enquiries please contact, Moira MacKenzie, Deputy Chief Executive/Director of Innovation at moira.mackenzie@dhi-scotland.com.
