Project Manager

The role positions you as a key driver of international collaboration, working across three leading universities in the UK and Malaysia to coordinate cutting-edge research that will influence global environmental policy and industrial practice. You will be instrumental in building and maintaining relationships that extend Queen's international research network while managing complex, multi-million pound research programmes. This is a full-time, 30-month fixed-term contract (with possibility of 6 months extension) requiring regular international travel to Malaysia for collaborative activities, stakeholder engagement, and project coordination.

About the person:

We seek an accomplished project management professional with the following:

• University degree in a relevant field such as Science, Engineering, Business Administration or Project Management.
• A professional project management qualification at practitioner level.
• Significant recent experience in managing complex projects.
• A demonstrable track record in successful grant writing and securing research funding.
• Your experience should include managing substantial research budgets, stakeholder and partner management across multiple institutions, and leading multi-disciplinary teams.
• Essential capabilities include using formal project management techniques and software, with evidence of managing, forecasting, and controlling budgets while understanding financial management procedures.
• You will have experience coordinating multi-institutional or international collaborations, combined with excellent understanding of UKRI funding mechanisms and ODA compliance requirements.

The successful candidate will demonstrate outstanding written and verbal communication abilities, with proven ability to work effectively with academic, industrial, and governmental stakeholders document on our website.
