The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) is one of the world’s leading public health universities. We are seeking to hire a Research Fellow to contribute to the set-up and conduct of a funded research project aiming to co-create a national weight management programme in Thailand. The duties of the post will involve coordinating and writing ethical approval documentation, designing a quantitative behavioural survey and designing qualitative study materials for a health worker skills assessment and co-creation workshops. The post-holder will also be expected to contribute to ad-hoc activities for this and other related grants held by the group, including coordinating meetings with co-investigators and stakeholders, contributing to writing of publications, systematic reviewing, and quantitative and qualitative data analysis.
The post-holder must have a postgraduate degree, ideally a doctoral degree, in a relevant topic. The post-holder should have an in-depth knowledge of behaviour change science as applied to obesity-related NCD research and experience in undertaking behavioural analyses and mixed-methods evaluations of obesity-related NCD interventions. The post is part-time 7 hours per week, 0.2 FTE and fixed-term until 28 February 2030. The post is funded by the NIHR and is available immediately.
The salary will be on the LSHTM salary scale, Grade 6 in the range £45,097 - £51,156 per annum, pro rata (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Wellbeing Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London at LSHTM.
