The Peninsula Technology Assessment Group (PenTAG) at the University of Exeter is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow (PDRF) in Statistics for Health Technology Assessment (HTA). If you're passionate about influencing high-profile healthcare decisions and driving impactful research, this is your chance to make a difference!

The Role

You'll play a key role in supporting statistical aspects of clinical and cost effectiveness as part of PenTAG’s work on health technologies (medicines, medical devices, diagnostics) for the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) and other leading agencies. Key tasks associated with this role include

  • appraisal and development of network meta-analyses;
  • appraisal of statistical methods used in clinical trials (in particular survival analysis and related methods);
  • working alongside health economists and economic modellers to develop and refine statistical inputs to economic models

Over time, you may also take on project management responsibilities and contribute to grants and publications, helping to shape the field of health economic modelling, HTA, and public health. If you don't have a PhD yet, your publications could form the basis for a PhD by publication.

What We Offer

  • A diverse and impactful project workload, shaping real-world healthcare policies.
  • On-the-job training to develop world-class expertise in health economics.
  • A collaborative, supportive research environment with opportunities for career progression.
  • Flexible working arrangements: office-based, hybrid, fully remote and part-time options available on a case-by-case basis.
