About the Role
2x Associate Lectureships: These two positions will provide a development opportunity for those who have exceptional potential in the field(s) of Politics and/or Political Economy. During their two-year appointment, Associate Lecturers will be expected to contribute to class teaching on both the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. While our teaching needs can arise in all areas of the curriculum, we particularly welcome applicants who can teach in the area of Comparative Politics and Political Economy with possible regional expertise focused on Africa, South Asia, or East Asia. Associate Lecturers will also be encouraged to cultivate their research trajectory within the Department of Politics and International Studies.
The Associate Lectures will be expected to teach across some of the following modules (depending on experience):

The Department is known for its combination of both academic and professional training in politics and international relations with a focus on the Global South (Africa, Asia, and the Middle East). Our MSc programme in Politics and International Relations is associated with a high-powered approach to professional networking via intensive Study Tours in Africa and Asia (South Asia, East Asia, Central Asia, and Southeast Asia). Our MA programme in International Studies and Diplomacy is widely recognised for its distinctive approach to policy-oriented postgraduate training, with a global focus that also covers the role of the US, Europe, and multilateral institutions in partnership with emerging powers. Preparation for careers in international affairs has long been a key strength of the Department.
