About the role
Would you like to work with world-class humanities scholars to help articulate and secure funding for their research? The Humanities Division is seeking to fill a new permanent full-time Research Facilitator post in the Division’s Research Support team. Our researchers work on projects ranging from Roman provincial coinage to AI ethics, and collaborate across the university and with external partners.
There are four Research Facilitators in the team, managed by the Head of Research Facilitation. Each Research Facilitator takes the lead on promoting research funding opportunities in specific Faculties, and is the first point of contact for staff in those Faculties. The postholder will work with researchers and academic staff on the development of funding bids, including the costing of the proposed research, and guiding applications through the University’s approval processes. Each Research Facilitator also takes the lead on advising on grant funding in connection to one of the Division’s knowledge exchange priorities: Heritage, Creative Industries, Theatre & Performance, and Public Policy.
You will be joining a friendly and supportive team and training can be provided, so this could be your first step into a research administration career. The team will be moving into the new Stephen A. Schwarzman Centre for the Humanities in September 2025.
For an informal discussion about the post in the first instance, please contact Dr Ian Lyne, Head of Research Facilitation, Humanities Division (ian.lyne@humanities.ox.ac.uk).
