We are recruiting for a motivated and proactive Operations Manager to join our team within the Nuffield Department of Medicine (NDM). This pivotal role provides operational support in delivering high-quality, effective, and efficient Professional Services in NDM.
Reporting directly to the Operations Director, you will play a key part in ensuring the smooth running of departmental activities by working collaboratively across the unit, wider department, and university. You will drive service improvements, manage escalations through to resolution, and ensure operational priorities are met.
You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of core business operations across NDM Operations and Education, acting as line manager to the executive and personal assistants, and ensuring high-quality administrative support to the Executive Leadership Team. You will be tasked with managing the effective administrative delivery of the Department’s Governance framework, working with the Director of Compliance and Assurance. You will also be responsible for ensuring that Departmental, Divisional, and University policies and procedures regarding information security and data protection are adhered to at all times.
To be successful in this role, you must hold a degree, or equivalent, with the demonstrable intellectual capacity, reasoning, and analytical skills expected of a graduate. You will have managerial experience in a varied working environment, including management of administrative staff, ideally in a Higher Education, public sector, or other large and complex organisation. You will also have strong interpersonal skills, with an ability to maintain confidentiality as appropriate and to encourage a team-based approach to tasks. A high level of computer literacy with expertise in the use of spreadsheets and databases is also essential for this role.
