£46,735 - £55,755 per annum pro-rata (Senior Lecturer)

An exciting opportunity for a has arisen for a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Occupational Therapy to join our forward-thinking and developing programme team, within the Faculty of Health and Wellbeing.

The post holder will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of the curriculum for our new Occupational Therapy Degree Apprenticeship programme. This programme has been created in collaboration with local health and social care providers to meet the needs of the local workforce, while developing and shaping confident and competent Occupational Therapists, able to meet the contemporary requirements of the profession. It is an opportunity to inspire the future workforce. The course is planned as blended delivery, with on-the-job learning, in person teaching and learning on campus, online delivery and use of the first-class healthcare facilities at the University.

Our ideal candidate will have experience of teaching occupational therapy within Highter Education and/or in practice, alongside experience in a clinical setting within one or more areas of occupational therapy practice and the ability to contribute to other non-specialism-specific areas, such as leadership and research.  They will be passionate about the impact of an occupational therapist.

The post holder will also have the opportunity to contribute to teaching and learning across the wider department and faculty.   The post requires a collaborative approach, both internally and externally, including working closely with our employer partners in the development and delivery of the Degree Apprenticeship. There will be opportunities to contribute to recruitment, development of contemporary practice-based-learning experiences and learner support.    

The successful candidate will need to be registered as an occupational therapist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

The Occupational Therapy Degree Apprenticeship programme is led by a Programme Lead supported by an Academic Head of Department for Allied Health Professions, Social Work and Sport, and a Deputy Head of Department for Allied Health Professions. The department offers several other programmes which align well with occupational therapy, including Social Work Apprenticeships, direct entry Physiotherapy and also Nutrition and Dietetics, resulting in opportunities for inter-professional teaching and learning.
