The Knight Lab, at the Centre for Human Genetics, has an exciting opportunity for a Laboratory Manager to join their established team. The laboratory has an impressive track record of innovation and high impact research in functional genomics, sepsis and susceptibility to multi-factorial disease.
You will be responsible for all areas of laboratory management, ensuring effective delivery of research, and effective ordering of consumables and maintenance of equipment. You will provide support for all staff employed on the projects to ensure they are following all University and project specific directives and receive the appropriate training and follow current Health and Safety regulations. Other duties will include ensuring compliance with health and safety, current standard operating procedures, and ensure maintenance of equipment in the laboratory.
It is essential that you hold a degree in genetics, biochemistry, molecular biology or related field and have evidence of substantial relevant expertise and experience in molecular biology, genomic or related laboratory techniques relevant to research by the group. You will have significant relevant experience in laboratory management and highly developed problem solving and organisation skills, with an ability to meet competing deadlines working with accuracy, self-motivation and integrity.
