We are seeking a Clinical Research Associate interested in research into the role of the immune system in severe head injury. The successful candidate will join the TITAN-TBI clinical trial team to manage the day to day running of the clinical trial, including recruiting participants, collecting and processing samples, and performing trial assessments. Additionally, the post holder will run brain injury biomarker and immunology assays as well as analyse the pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics of the trial investigational drug.
They will be expected to apply to study for a PhD over the course of this employment and undertake research activities relating to this in addition to the trial requirements.
Key job functions
The Clinical Research Associate will be responsible for patient recruitment, biosample collection and processing, clinical data collection and documentation, as well as running simple laboratory assays under the supervision of an experienced laboratory manager.
Essential Criteria
We will only consider applicants who are currently GMC-registered Medical Practitioners, permitted to practise in the UK and who have undertaken their general medical training to the level of ST3 or above (or equivalent).
This is an integrated appointment between the University and Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust ("NHS Trust"). You will therefore also be issued an Honorary Clinical Contract by the NHS Trust. You should be aware that if your contract with the NHS Trust is terminated your employment with the University will be terminated, and vice versa.
