The Faculty of History is seeking to appoint a Project Co-ordinator (Part-time 0.2FTE) to support Dr Niamh Gallagher's UKRI-funded research project, 'Ireland and the "Ends" of the British Empire'.
The successful candidate will play a central role in the day-to-day management of the project, providing financial, organisational, and strategic support under the overall direction of the Principal Investigator (PI). Acting as the primary liaison between the PI, postdoctoral researchers, the Faculty of History, the University's Research Grants Office, and external partners in the UK and Ireland, the Project Co-ordinator will ensure smooth and efficient communication across all stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:
Coordinating the project's administrative operations and ensuring its effective delivery.
Managing the project budget and logistics.
Supporting the PI in supervising research activity and liaising with the funding body.
Assisting with the editing and preparation of research publications as required.
We are looking for a highly organised and proactive individual educated to HND, HNC, Level 4/5 vocational qualification or equivalent, with prior experience in an administrative or project-based role. Candidates should demonstrate strong planning, communication, interpersonal, and IT skills. Experience within a higher education environment, along with an understanding of the humanities, is desirable.
The ideal candidate will be capable of independent working, show initiative in problem-solving, and adapt flexibly to different working styles. A collaborative and professional approach to team-building and stakeholder engagement is essential.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 4 years in the first instance.
