About the role
Due to continued growth in the School, we are seeking an Associate Professor in Finance (Teaching Focused) to join the School of Accounting and Finance at the University of Leicester. This post offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our strategic ambitions by delivering high-quality, research-informed teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. You will play a leading role in developing and innovating curriculum content, ensuring inclusivity, sustainability, and alignment with professional standards, while actively enhancing the student experience. In addition, you will contribute to our educational and citizenship agendas by engaging with programme design, quality assurance, student support, employability initiatives and pedagogical innovation.
As a member of our academic community, you will engage in scholarly activity that shapes educational practice within and beyond the University. You will take on leadership roles within the School, represent the University externally, and contribute to national and international debates on finance education. This role is vital to supporting our mission as a research-intensive university committed to delivering Research-Inspired Education and fostering engaged, socially responsible graduates.
About you
You will have significant academic or professional experience in the field of finance, with a strong record of delivering teaching that leads to excellent student outcomes. A passion for innovation in education and a commitment to embedding research and professional skills in your teaching are essential. You should be able to demonstrate leadership in developing modules and programmes, mentoring colleagues, and supporting the academic success and wellbeing of a diverse student body. Senior Fellowship of the HEA (or commitment to gaining an equivalent qualification) is expected, and membership of a professional body such as the CFA would be advantageous.
