About us
The Department of Statistical Science at UCL is the longest established university statistics department in the world and has played a pioneering role in the development of the subject since its foundation in 1911. In the most recent Research Excellence Framework (REF 2021/22), over 97% of its research outputs were rated as “world-leading” or “internationally excellent” in terms of originality, significance, and rigour. The Biostatistics Group, led by Professor Rumana Omar, was established to strengthen the methodological quality of health research across UCL and its partner NHS Trusts. Wi thin this context, the group undertakes an ambitious programme combining collaborative work with health researchers and the development of novel statistical methods to address complex biomedical challenges.
About the role
