We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join us as an Events and Communications Coordinator and be responsible for the comprehensive planning and delivery of an academic event, comprising two co-located conferences and multiple satellite activities. This high-profile event attracts a diverse audience of academics, industry professionals, and international delegates, and plays an important role in advancing Department's goals of research dissemination, collaboration, and public engagement.
Based at the Department's Civil Engineering Building in West Cambridge, you will ensure the smooth and professional execution of the event, within budget, which in turn will support the Department's objectives of fostering academic collaboration, enhancing institutional visibility, and delivering a high-quality experience for all participants. You will also be required to create and maintain the event website and support the technical side of the event.
The successful candidate will be educated to HND, HNC, level 4/5 vocational qualification or an equivalent level of practical experience and a project management and/or website development certification would be desirable. You will be an advanced user of Microsoft office and possess strong organisational and multitasking skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are also a prerequisite for this role, together with experience in website management and event coordination. There may be a requirement to work additional hours on occasions prior to or during work-intensive periods.
Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available until 30 September 2026 in the first instance.
