“Empower Communities, Inspire Change: Join UWE Bristol’s Civic Engagement Mission”
Research and External Engagement (REE) is an innovative, integrated service at the heart of UWE Bristol’s ambitions for impactful research, inclusive skills development, and community-centred enterprise. We're here to support our students, drive research excellence, and collaborate to upskill and empower our region’s workforce—strengthening connections with alumni, businesses, and local communities.
Through pioneering research, experiential learning, strategic partnerships, civic leadership, and skills delivery, we aim to help people thrive in a rapidly evolving world.
The Civic and Inclusivity team within REE leads on the University’s civic and social impact strategy. We identify opportunities for cross-disciplinary collaboration with local government, civic organisations, and community partners. Together, we deliver initiatives that foster social value, inclusive growth, and opportunities for all—enriching student and staff experiences through active community engagement, volunteering, and socially driven enterprise.
The Role : Civic and Community Engagement Officer
As valued member of Civic and Inclusivity team, you will help create and sustain meaningful partnerships with civic and community organisations across research, innovation, skills, and enterprise. You’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality volunteering experiences that enrich the student journey, support inclusive regional growth, and champion UWE Bristol’s values around social justice and community impact.
About You
You are a proactive and collaborative professional who cares deeply about making a positive impact. You bring experience of working within communities and charities, facilitating volunteering opportunities, and an understanding of the role universities can play in supporting inclusive growth.
This is a brilliant opportunity to join a growing team at the forefront of UWE Bristol’s civic mission—driving positive change for students, staff, and the wider community
