The Department of Earth Sciences is seeking a proactive, adaptable and highly organised individual to join our dedicated Professional Services team as an Undergraduate Teaching Co-ordinator. This pivotal role sits within our Teaching Office and plays a key part in ensuring the smooth delivery of undergraduate teaching and assessment across the Department. You will be part of a friendly and supportive team with opportunities for professional development, in a Department committed to excellence in both research and teaching. Key responsibilities associated with the role include:

  • Co-ordinate systems and processes for undergraduate course administration, ensuring efficient delivery across the academic year.
  • Provide high level administrative support for undergraduate examinations, including arrangements for students requiring reasonable adjustments.
  • Oversee the financial administration of teaching activities, including processing casual worker payments and tracking teaching and field course budgets.
  • Provide support for lecture capture and recording uploads.
  • Manage and curate the Department's Teaching Collection, support the launch and maintenance of a new digital loan system.

The role holder will report to the Teaching Support Manager and work closely with the Classroom Support Technicians, academic staff, and wider Professional Services team. A student facing role, the post holder should have exceptional communication and people skills and be empathetic and understanding with the ability to manage difficult situations in a calm and professional manner. The successful candidate will have experience of working in a Higher Education administrative role and possess excellent organisational and time management skills. Experience with Panopto, CWS, CamSIS and Moodle would be advantageous.
