About the School
The School of Health and Social Care has an excellent reputation for teaching and research in health and social care. Our academic members of staff include health policy, services, and systems scholars, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, psychological therapists, nurses, social workers, oral health practitioners, psychologists, and sociologists. The School is run over two campuses: Southend and Colchester. Academic staff are supported by a team of administrative staff based at both Colchester and Southend campuses.

We are looking for a Senior Lecturer to take an active and senior role in the delivery and development of the doctorate in clinical psychology programme in the School.
Duties of the Role
The post-holder is expected to design and deliver a broad range of innovative teaching at postgraduate level. You will make significant research-led and pedagogically-informed contributions to module/curriculum design and development.
You will engage in sustained, influential and successful ways with substantive teaching and learning support roles in the department, including those which involve the organisation, leadership and/or management of specific aspects of teaching and learning provision.
In addition, for ASER contracts, you will conduct high quality research and contribute to the School’s research profile including engaging in individual and/or collaborative research activity resulting in internationally excellent publications in keeping with REF criteria and generating research income appropriate in scale to career stage and subject area norms.
As part of the process and to be successful you will be required to demonstrate how you your research has been impactful within and beyond the academic sphere, recognising the importance of this and the effect it will have on the University.

Qualifications and Skills required
The successful candidate will possess a relevant doctoral level degree or equivalent professional experience or practice. Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy or the ability to gain professional recognition at this or a higher level if appropriate, along with registration with a psychological therapies professional body- BPS, HCPC, AFT and/or BABACP are also essential to the post.
You will have the ability and willingness to complement and enhance the department/school’s research and education strengths and areas of planned development. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal are also required for this post.
In addition, for ASER contracts, candidates will have a clear publication plan for submission to future Research Excellence Framework (REF) programmes and an established and internationally recognised research profile, with a well-developed future research agenda.
