About the role:

Applications are encouraged to join the Ageing Epidemiology (AGE) Research Unit in the School of Public Health. This post will be based at the Charing Cross Hospital campus, Hammersmith and Imperial College White City campus.

The Project Manager will have a key role in ensuring the Unit delivers research programmes to a high standard and that the activities of the unit are coordinated and managed in line with College policies, HRA and any other regulatory requirements.

What you would be doing:

The successful candidate will:

  • Support the Unit Manager and Unit Director in the strategic and operational planning, and coordination of the broad range of projects and initiatives conducted by the AGE Research Unit.
  • Have a key role in ensuring the Unit delivers research programmes to a high standard and that the activities of the unit are coordinated and managed in line with College and HRA policies and any other regulatory requirements, and will act in an expert advisory role to Investigators and researchers in the unit.
  • Assist in the evaluation, set-up, management and delivery of research studies on dementia prevention, over two sites within set timelines.
  • Provide and deliver reports or presentations as required by the clinical lead, investigator, or departmental/project manager
  • Act as the point of escalation for project staff in relation to college support and mechanisms, in the absence of the Departmental Manager.

  • Applicants should have proven clinical research experience, particularly in project management and coordinating operational planning and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong communication will be needed, to work with, support and advise the full range of unit staff and our collaborators and contacts.
  • A flexible approach, able to adapt to changing needs of the unit and fluctuating demand.
  • Organisational skills are essential, to prioritise a diverse range of tasks and manage competing demands.

Further Information

This post is offered full-time and fixed-term for 12 months in the first instance.

Hybrid working may be considered for this role.  Staff working in roles that are suitable for hybrid working will normally be expected to work 60% of their time onsite. The opportunity for hybrid working will be discussed at interview.
