Birkbeck, University of London, is looking for a part-time Associate Tutor to help shape our future in 2026.
As Associate Tutor you will join the teaching team within the School of Natural Sciences and support the module:
Your role will be to support teaching, in order to enable students to complete their studies successfully and undertake related course administrative duties as required.
Your main responsibility will be preparation and assisting with the studying skills, focused seminar teaching, and providing feedback on formative assessment.
The ideal Associate Tutor will have knowledge of Bioinformatics and experience of teaching and/or MSc project supervision in this field in an area that complements existing expertise. You will be qualified to at least MSc level in this area or demonstrate equivalent professional/industry level experience.

Salary
Payment is based on an hourly rate depending on length of continuous service with the College (starting rate £24.55 per hour inclusive of pro-rata London Allowance and holiday pay) for contact hours worked. This hourly rate is based on the starting point of Grade 6. Payment is for 10-15 hours of project supervision plus marking (£38.40) per student.
