We are seeking to appoint a Quality Assurance Officer to join our team, playing a key role in maintaining high standards of research and operational quality while supporting essential team administration. You will work closely with technical leads, users, and customers, contributing to the assurance of process and document quality and helping to coordinate communication between lab and researchers.

In this role, you will operate with a high degree of autonomy and contribute to the development of processes and strategic QA initiatives. You will work closely with a small team of QA staff and the Quality Manager, collaborating on the design of strategies and solutions to benefit the wider research community and support translational medicine on campus.

You will be responsible for reviewing the accuracy and compliance of study protocols and supporting documentation, ensuring SOPs are up to date or created for new protocols, and supporting internal audits and corrective actions where needed. You will also maintain documentation to high standards of clarity and regulatory alignment. Alongside this, you will coordinate communication between users, the QA team, and technical leads, track requests and changes, follow up on quotations, and maintain central records of queries and outcomes. You will also provide administrative support to the team, including minute taking, action logging, and developing templates and process maps to improve workflows.

It is essential that you must hold a degree in Life Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Clinical Sciences or relevant subject with strong organisational and communication skills and close attention to detail. Experience in a research, clinical, regulatory, or academic environment is essential. You will also need to be confident using MS Office tools and online collaboration platforms such as Teams, SharePoint, or Slack. Desirable experience includes presenting technical or procedural content to a range of audiences, responsibility for QA processes or audits, familiarity with University or NHS research systems, and coordination or project administration in research.
