About the Role
To provide senior-level operational support within a School/Institute, ensuring local business continuity, oversight of compliance requirements (e.g. Health & Safety, carbon footprint reporting, and building-related sustainability targets), and coordination of local projects and priorities, including high level strategic events, and speaking engagements.. The postholder will work closely with School/Institute and Faculty leadership to maintain delivery through periods of change and transformation, acting as a key local point of contact within a wider pooled support model.
The role encompasses the traditional responsibilities of an Executive Assistant while extending to proactive collaboration on project coordination, full secretarial responsibilities to meetings, reports, high level strategic events, and speaking engagements. The post-holder will play a critical role in ensuring the School/Institute Leadership Team adheres to policies and procedures, operating efficiently and effectively.
The post-holder will act as a trusted advisor to enable the executive to focus on their strategic objectives and portfolio.
This role serves as a central point of contact for the Heads of Schools/Institute Directors and their senior leadership teams, requiring engagement with senior stakeholders within QMUL and across partner organisations. The post-holder will represent both the School/Institute and the institution with professionalism, diplomacy, and a strong understanding of leadership priorities.
Additionally, the post-holder will foster team collaboration across the Faculty, contributing to the overall effectiveness of the Senior Leadership Team, ensuring seamless cover and demonstrating flexibility to meet evolving demands will be essential. Maintaining strict confidentiality and handling sensitive information with discretion are fundamental aspects of this role.
