Are you an ambitious researcher looking for your next challenge? Do you have a background in reproductive or developmental biology? Do you want to further your career in one of the UK’s leading research-intensive Universities?
We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to join the team of Dr Karen Forbes and Professor Eleanor Scott. Our main interests are in understanding how an adverse maternal environment impacts placental development, pregnancy outcomes and long-term health of the offspring.
This multidisciplinary project, funded by the Medical Research Council (MRC), will use cutting edge molecular, cellular and physiological approaches to investigate the role of extracellular vesicles on pregnancy outcomes and long-term health of offspring in pregnancies complicated by maternal diabetes.
The post holder will be expected to conduct experiments using a combination of human clinical samples, mouse models of pregnancy and advanced in vitro tissue models. The role will also involve in-vivo imaging, cardio-metabolic phenotyping and the application of omics technologies including transcriptomics, proteomics and metabolomics.
What we offer in return
-Access to courses run by our Organisational Development & Professional Learning team.
-All FMH staff are entitled to ten days staff development per year (pro rata). Please speak to your Line Manager about how you can utilise these.
And much more!
