This is a fixed term appointment for 12 months, with extension subject to further funding.
The Centre for Economic Transition Expertise (CETEx) seeks to appoint a Policy Analyst to work within the Monetary and Financial Markets pillar of the centre, contributing to a programme focused on financial policy supporting transition to low carbon, resilient, sustainable economies.
The post holder will lead on policy-oriented analysis and research-based outputs in collaboration with research and policy staff. They will deliver empirically grounded analysis of transition risks and opportunities, with a particular focus on market, corporate governance and regulatory incentives to support accelerated investment in the transition. They will pursue expert and high-level policy engagement in advanced G20 economies, particularly the UK.
Candidates must hold a master’s degree in environmental economics/policy, sustainable finance, economics, finance, management, law or a closely related field. Candidates should also have strong knowledge of the field of monetary and financial markets and related climate and environmental policy questions, with application to central banking, financial supervision, financial market regulation and standards in the European context, as well as good experience of directly engaging with or working within monetary and financial market authorities in Europe or overseas on issues relating to environmental degradation and economic transition, with a particular focus on transition finance and transition plans. Candidates will also hold a strong publication track record of policy and research publications, or professional experience developing policies and implementation guidance, on the role of financial markets authorities in the context of environmental degradation and economic transition.
