About the role:
Applicants are invited to apply for one Marie Skłodowska-Curie Doctoral Network Researcher position funded by Horizon Europe Marie Currie Doctoral Network grant of the Commission of European Council to develop novel method for Advanced WF interface control for enhanced synchronisation stability under varying grid and WF output situation. The positions involve undertaking full time research in grid connected large wind energy system dynamic modelling, control and analysis. In particular, the objective of this research programme is to lay the foundations of a new, model and methodology for Advanced wind farm (WF) interface control for enhanced stability under varying grid and WF output condition.
What you would be doing:
You will carry out research programmes in wind farm and power transmission system model, analysis, control and optimisation but not limited to data driven monitoring for control and operation.
What we are looking for:
You must have a good master’s degree in electrical engineering, with Power and Control Engineering major or (or equivalent) for appointment at Research Assistant level and have previous experience in power engineering with emphasis on power system dynamics, analysis and control dominated by renewable generations.
The position requires the candidate meets the academic requirement to register for PhD at Imperial College London.
The candidate needs to spend 6-8 months of secondment in consortium partner’s site in Sweden, Germany and UK.

The candidates with travel restriction to secondment hosting countries need not apply. The position has a flexible start date between 1st Feb 2026 to 30th April 2026.
The candidates will work at the control and power group of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering. Control and Power group has about twenty full time academic staffs, thirty post-doctoral research staffs and more than 60 PhD students. The group is known for its world leading research in control and power engineering. The group has ten IEEE Fellows and four Royal Academy of Engineering Fellows.
The post is available from 01 Feb 2026 for a fixed period of 36 months The post is based in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Imperial College London (South Kensington Campus).
The salary will be a fixed salary and the rate will be either £44,284 per annum if the researcher is not entitled to the family allowance, or £48,797 if they are entitled to the family allowance.
