Background The Robotics, Autonomy and Machine Intelligence (RAMI) Group led by Prof Nabil Aouf is dedicated to fulfil customer’s ambitious and innovative requirements. The group steadily establishes itself as a world leader in a range of applications from automatic sensing to processing and AI Autonomy for Data Processing, Robotics and Unmanned Vehicles to platforms Navigation/Control and Cyber Physical Systems.
Responsibilities The key tasks of the appointee to this research and development are to: • Undertake research in the field of AI for healthcare autonomous systems. Activities on non-healthcare systems could occasionally be requested. • Undertake research from algorithm development to real time implementation. • Prepare, publish, and present papers and presentations on the related work for highly ranked Journals and major meetings and Conferences, as specified by the Principal Investigator. • Work as a member of the research team in discipline, playing a full part in the research life of the University in general, and the RAMI Group within the School of Science and Technology, in • Business Development activities for the expansion of the Autonomy of Systems Centre. • Assisting in writing proposal to expand the healthcare autonomous systems activities. • Take up other d uties and tasks, such as teaching, tutorial and laboratory as may reasonably be assigned by the Principal
Person Specification Capability to carry out research more than one of the following areas: AI and Deep Learning in Healthcare related context, Robotics and autonomous systems, Computer vision, Embedded and Realtime Systems Knowledge in promoting group activities and Business development Experience of processing of data and presenting results in a suitable format for dissemination of results in reports presentations, and research papers etc. Demonstrable knowledge of Programming skills (Python/C++/Matlab) Interest in developing AI and deep learning based solutions for heathcare systems An ability to work effectively with research staff, students and customers and organizing activities of the Autonomy of Systems centre An ability and willingness to learn new technical skills Demonstrate the ability to meet deadlines and work under tight time scales Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills
