About the role
This is a crucial role in Department’s safety team, responsible for providing safety advice and support to the Department of Biology across a broad range of activities in other areas when needed.
This role enables the work of the department to be carried out safely and cost-effectively in compliance with University policy and statutory legal requirements. The postholder must engage directly with researchers, proactively investigating the risk of upcoming projects to ensure a safe working environment for all.
The post holder will work as a key part of the Department’s safety team to provide compliance with health and safety requirements across multiple sites, the full and diverse range of department activity, and all stakeholder groups. They will also liaise effectively with other safety professionals within the Department, the MPLS division and the University Safety Office.
