Main duties and responsibilities
This is a pivotal role for the Department, dedicated to ensuring that students and learners have access to high quality practice placements which are compliant with NMC requirements. The post holder will be the key link between placement providers, the Department and the Practice Placements Administrative team.
You will be actively monitoring placement capacity across the provision and liaising with relevant internal and external colleagues to predict and address capacity shortfall.
You will lead and participate in the identification and establishment of new placements, working closely with practice partners, and be innovative and creative in approach to placement expansion within the NHS as well as the Private, Voluntary and Independent Organisations (PVIO), whilst maintaining relevant standards and regulatory requirements, and liaise with senior School personnel regarding professional body requirements and UH governance.
Skills and experience required
This role calls for strong organisational and interpersonal skills, along with a solid understanding of placement learning. You will have experience of teaching and analysing data sets to inform your leadership in placement capacity planning
You will have experience working independently, managing priorities, and meeting deadlines, with a background in the health and social care sector and a sound understanding of its practices. Excellent communication, written, verbal, and listening, will be key, along with the ability to build relationships, and influence stakeholders while maintaining compliance.
Qualifications required
You will have a postgraduate qualification or equivalent in nursing or a relevant field, or significant experience and will be registered with the NMC.
