Salary: Lecturer: UH7 £38,784pa (pro rata) to £46,049pa (pro rata) by annual increments on achieving designated skills and experience

Senior Lecturer: UH8 £46,049pa (pro rata) to £58,225pa (pro rata) by annual increments on achieving designated skills and experience

Annual Leave: 35 days (pro rata) plus standard public holidays and an additional 4 days including the closure of our office between Christmas and New Year

Main duties and responsibilities

You will provide high-quality academic input in relation to the planning, teaching, assessing and evaluation of programmes (BSc, MSc and apprenticeship). You will adopt a pedagogical and inclusive approach to learning and teaching design, supporting successful learner outcomes, with the use of learning technologies and blended approaches to enhance the learner experience. You will be involved in the selection, recruitment and assessment of students where required.

For appointments as a Senior Lecturer, you will undertake roles with increased responsibility such as Module Leadership and contribute to curriculum development and academic quality processes and initiatives including reporting to Examination Boards and Programme Management Committees.

Skills and experience required

You will have experience in supporting student learning in either a practice or classroom setting and a sustained interest and knowledge of contemporary nursing and healthcare practice (including the NMC Standards of Proficiency, 2018) and its implications for mental health nursing programmes. You will also be able to demonstrate your ability to incorporate the values and principles of recovery and wellbeing approaches into own practice.

You will be able to show evidence of your ability to work with autonomy and as part of a team, as well as being proficient in English language and having excellent written and verbal communication skills. This role requires you to be able to work to deadlines and be a motivated, committed and student-focused individual with a commitment to evidence-informed and practice-based teaching.

Qualifications required

A minimum of a Degree, or equivalent level 6 qualification in a relevant subject area and have current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council as a Mental Health Nurse. Hold a recognised teaching qualification or willingness to undertake a course to gain a teaching qualification.

For appointments as a Senior Lecturer, you will have a Level 7 qualification (such as a PgDip/Masters or equivalent) in a relevant subject area.
