BACKGROUND
An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a Procurement Manager. The Institute does not have a procurement services function, so your role will be to establish the function and implement a procurement strategy and policy across the Institute.
You will create a centrally coordinated highly effective procurement service with strong execution capability. You will deliver substantial and sustainable savings and be an integral strategic partner with research support teams, operational teams and supply chain partners.
YOUR PROFILE
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of contract and supplier management and be able to establish and oversee a robust contract management process. They will have excellent negotiation skills and commercial acumen with a proven experience of achieving cost savings and sustainable benefits achieved through effective negotiations. Experience in a similar role is essential as well as the ability to analyse both financial and non-financial information and identify commercial opportunities.

The Alan Turing Institute is based at the British Library, in the heart of London’s Knowledge Quarter. We expect staff to come to our office at least 4 days per month. Some roles may require more days in the office; the hiring manager will be able to confirm this during the interview.
