About the Role
This 4.5-year Project Manager (PM) position will co-ordinate and support the research of a £6.3 million UKRI/EPSRC funded Programme Grant, "Enabling Net Zero and the AI Revolution with Ultra-Low Energy 2D Materials and Devices (NEED2D)." Our project proposes to replace the energy-hungry silicon devices in data centres and computers with ultra-low energy consumption electronic devices.
Our research team from Queen Mary University of London, and the universities of Glasgow and Nottingham, is also supported by 23 partner industries. The PM will report to the Project Lead, Professor Sir Colin Humphreys, and will be based at QMUL in London with occasional travel to Glasgow and Nottingham universities, and to the partner industries.
Key responsibilities include the day-to-day management of the project, including the financial administration, monitoring progress of the project, managing risks, preparing reports and ensuring actions are delivered. The PM will co-ordinate the research of QMUL, Glasgow and Nottingham universities, maintaining links with partner industries and seeking new ones, and will assist in writing research proposals.
About You
You should have a relevant scientific or engineering degree, or equivalent experience, ideally with a PhD and experience of working with semiconductors. This role requires substantial experience of successful project management of large and complex projects with a budget in excess of £1M.
