This role will be based on the university campus with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner. We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements.
Are you a well-organised and enthusiastic team player with excellent administrative and personal communications skills? Could you support our growing activity as we enhance the engagement of our community of alumni and supporters?
The University of Leeds engages with one of the largest alumni communities in UK higher education, comprising over 340,000 graduates across 190 countries, as well as a wider group of supporters. They are a vital part of our community, and we are committed to involving them in the life of the University, enhancing connections, sharing insights and working together to make a positive impact on the world.
You will be the first point of contact between the University and our engaged community of alumni and supporters, particularly by email, but also by phone and face to face as needed. You will be able respond to a large number of incoming queries and messages in an efficient, professional, but warm and personable manner, solving problems and dealing with difficult questions when they arise. You will also deal with incoming messages from the wider University and direct them to the right parts of the team.
You will also be responsible for a range of administrative duties, particularly keeping budget spreadsheets and team plans up to date and completing monthly spend reports, arranging and minuting meetings, and diary management. You will be flexible, highly organised, adept at anticipating forthcoming milestones, and confident in prioritising and managing varied tasks effectively to meet deadlines. You will be a people person who works best as part of a team and is committed to providing the best ‘customer’ experience, whether to alumni and supporters, colleagues in your team, or the wider University.
