Salford Business School is looking to recruit 0.2 FTE Chairs in any business school discipline, to join our growing community to lead and effect real-world change through academic excellence and interdisciplinary research leadership. Reporting directly to the PVC Dean, the Chair in Business & Management represents one of several positions aimed at building a powerful interdisciplinary research team where capacity building and mentorship will be a critical part of your role. This is an exciting time to join the University, as we continue to grow and leverage our collaborative expertise to enrich the lives of our students and the capacity of our scholarly community.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the development of collaborative research and outputs of international standing in your discipline.
  • Act as a mentor to new and early career researchers and PGR students and support research capacity building activities within the School.
  • Collaborate with existing research programmes in digital transformation and sustainable business futures, to create impact for the region, industry and/or public sector partners.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of University and School level research strategies, with a contribution to the University’s returns to national research assessment exercises (REF).
