About the role
We are looking for an exceptional individual to join our building operations team for the Stephen A. Schwarzman Centre for the Humanities as a Digital Content Manager to lead the delivery and continuous improvement of the Centre’s digital presence. This includes responsibility for the Schwarzman Centre’s website (Culture Suite CMS) and digital signage (internal and external), as well as support for email newsletters and social media.
The Schwarzman Centre is the University of Oxford’s new flagship building for the Humanities, bringing together teaching, research, and public engagement in a state-of-the-art, multidisciplinary space. For the first time, seven Humanities faculties will share a single home alongside cultural venues, performance spaces, and a world-class public programme.
Working with the Social Media and Content Officer, and the Audiences team, the postholder will collaborate closely with academics, producers, curators, and professional staff across the Centre to help create and manage compelling, accessible digital content that reflects the Centre’s academic excellence and cultural vibrancy. The role will also be responsible for the timetabling and event digital content being displayed in a consistent and timely manner across the building.
About you
The role is ideal for a content strategist who combines strong editorial judgement with a user-centered, data-informed approach. You will have experience in digital content or communications roles—ideally in cultural, academic, or public-facing organisations. You will have proven ability to manage content across websites, email campaigns, and social platforms along with strong visual literacy skills, and the ability to commission or produce multimedia content.
You will be a strategic thinker and confident collaborator with excellent interpersonal communication skills, and demonstrate a passion for inclusive, accessible digital content and engagement. You will need a strong command and experience of web CMS platforms and be proficient in the use of digital tools such as CMS, Google Analytics, social media scheduling, email platforms, Adobe Creative Suite, analytics platforms, and basic HTML/CSS.
