Registry and Academic Development
£32,363 - £39,132 per annum, pro rata
Fixed-term for 12 months (Maternity Cover)
29.6 hours per week
We have an exciting opportunity for a Learning Technology Advisor to join the Registry and Academic Development Service. This is a fixed-term appointment for 12 months, however, as the post is linked to a maternity absence, the end date is subject to change.
In this role, you will report to the LTA Manager and work closely with a team of Learning Technology Advisors to support academic staff in their use of our Virtual Learning Environment, Brightspace, and other learning technologies that the University supports.
The role involves responding to academic staff enquiries via our service management system, TOPdesk, providing one-to-one support and delivering training sessions relating to the University’s learning technologies. You will play a key role in supporting the Learning Technology Team to troubleshoot any technical issues with technology-enhanced learning and develop staff capacity in this area.
You will hold a degree, a relevant professional qualification, or equivalent experience, along with two A-levels or equivalent. You will have proven experience of working with Virtual Learning Environments (VLEs) and collaborating with both technical and academic teams to support learning and teaching.
We are looking for someone with excellent communication and presentation skills, a proactive approach to adopting new technologies, and the ability to manage and prioritise a varied workload. Strong knowledge of Brightspace or a similar Virtual Learning Environment system is essential, as is a commitment to customer service, equality, diversity and inclusion, and alignment with the University's strategy and values.
We offer an excellent employment package, including hybrid working, blending a mix of remote and on-campus working (dependent on work duties).
The University is deeply committed to equality and diversity for all its students and staff. We seek to be diverse and inclusive, supporting individuals and groups to fulfil their potential and nurture a sense of belonging. We strive to be an accessible, inclusive employer, removing barriers for all. Find out more about our approach to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, including our commitments and accreditations as a Disability Confident Employer, Stonewall Gold Award holder and Top 100 Employer, Athena SWAN Bronze Award holder and Race Equality Charter Bronze Award holder.
