Assistant Lecturer in Industrial Electrical Engineering

Description of Post

The Department of Electronic and Mechanical Engineering within the Faculty of Engineering and Technology seeks applications in the following area that may be appointed in a permanent full-time capacity: Industrial Electrical Engineering.

Please note: The postholder will be based at the ATU Donegal, Letterkenny Campus.

Essential Qualifications

Minimum

• An Honours (2.2 or higher) Level 8 degree as specified in the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ)] or equivalent majoring in Electrical Engineering

• Three years relevant post - qualification experience.

Desirable

• Experience in teaching electrical engineering and mathematics.
• Successful candidates will have extensive knowledge and practical experience in Electrical and Instrumentation Drawing (CAD), Engineering Mathematics, Industrial Communications, Industrial Maintenance Systems, Electrical Machines, Electrical Testing & Fault-finding, Probability & Statistics, Industrial Electrical Control Systems, Electrical Planning & Layout, Energy Efficiency in Industry, Advanced PLC Systems, HMI & SCADA, HV & Distributed Electrical Systems and Process Instrumentation
• Significant industry and/or research experience in the area of electrical engineering and/ or engineering education

• A Master's Degree in a relevant Level 9 Programme [as specified in the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ)] or equivalent.

• A postgraduate qualification preferably at PhD level
• A qualification in Education
• Third level teaching experience (online and face to face)
• Research experience
• Experience in programme development and implementation
• Supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate research projects.
• Flexible and adaptable
• Ability to teach effectively
• Good communication skills, organisational skills and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work as part of a team
