About the role
The Department of Chemistry is seeking two proactive and collaborative Senior HR Officers to deliver a high-quality, customer-focused HR service across one of Oxford’s largest departments.
Reporting to the Deputy Head of HR, you will manage day-to-day HR operations and support two HR Officers. You’ll partner with managers to provide practical, solutions-focused advice that helps teams perform effectively while ensuring compliance with University policies and employment law.
Key responsibilities include leading and developing the HR team, advising on employment matters, overseeing recruitment and onboarding, supporting workforce planning and change management, and ensuring compliance across payroll, right-to-work, and data processes. You’ll also contribute to departmental projects such as Athena Swan, immigration audits, and HR process improvements.
