The Aberdeen Centre for Evaluation (ACE)’s specific aims are to work for the implementation of better health and social care, identify developments within health and social care that are effective, efficient and high quality, and explore and understand experiences of health and social care.
This work is underpinned by the Centre undertaking work with patient and public partners, undertaking capacity building, education and training, using and developing interdisciplinary approaches and leading the way with the development and implementation of new and innovative methodological approaches.
A Research Fellow with experience of behaviour change theories, models and frameworks is required to work on a trials methodology research project investigating responsible research practices to reduce the environmental impact of clinical trials. This post will contribute to a larger Wellcome Trust funded project that aims to digitise guidance for carbon foot printing publicly-funded trials to more rapidly gather the data required to identify hotspots; understand adaptations needed for application in South Africa; promote interoperability between carbon calculators in development elsewhere; identify research gaps surrounding foot printing and mitigation; disseminate evidence-based mitigation strategies; and understand behavioural aspects to increase their adoption.

Depending on your previous experience you may take more of a leading role in this work or you may be closely supervised and supported by experienced researchers within the team.
For appointment as Research Fellow, salary will be at the appropriate point on the Grade 6 scale, 80% of £38,249 - £42,882 per annum, and negotiable with placement according to qualifications and experience.
