About the Role

The School of Humanities and Creative Arts is looking for the right candidate to join our film and moving image provision, to work across award winning courses such as the BA (Hons) Film and High-End Television Production, and the MA in Film and Screen Production. Our courses have been a regular feature at national events such as NAHEMI and the RTS Student Awards alongside leading industry projects such as Format.

The successful candidates will build on the international reputation of the University and contribute to the delivery of the course through the provision of inspiring and supporting learning opportunities, providing a stimulating and nurturing environment for both students and colleagues. The role will enhance professional, academic and research partnerships to ensure that the course anticipates the changing needs of the screen industries.

About You

We are looking for a Senior Lecturer to lead modules across provision on the BA (Hons) Film and High-End Television Production, and the MA in Film and Screen Production. To be successful in this role, you will have experience of working in a studio environment, location filming, pitching, funding and commissioning, understand film studio etiquette, and sustainable filmmaking practice, preferably via BAFTA ALBERT. Experience of working with 35mm celluloid including loading stock into cameras is an advantage alongside both analogue and digital pipelines.

You should have either an established (or developing) research portfolio, which could be comprised of practice-based research, alongside a track record of grant capture and external project funding. An understanding of key quality metrics such as TEF, REF, and KEF alongside quality assurance practices is also required. An ability to work with external partners or stakeholders including PSRBs (ScreenSkills), BAFTA, NAHEMI, RTS, GTC, and local industry is also desirable.
