The new Department of Media, Culture and Creative Industries draws together academic staff specialising in Advertising, Creative Writing, Cultural and Creative Industries, English, Media and Communications, Marketing Communication, Media Management, Media Production, Publishing, PR and Strategic Communication. The department is committed to maintaining the high quality of our teaching. Candidates should be able to teach modules across Media Production in a way that is industry-focussed. In particular, you should have the ability to teach most if not all of the following modules:
The successful candidate will have a good first degree and expertise related to Media Production and Digital Content Creation. You should have deep expertise in video production and the ability to teach postproduction software. Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro will be tested at interview.
You will be a team player and have a professional background in the media industries and the ability to share insights from that background in a way that is supportive of students’ employability. You will be able to relate to a generation of students more likely seeking to create content for TikTok or YouTube than submitting films for festivals.
